Countdown to Election Day Primary Election: Tuesday, September 15, 2009
  General Election:  Tuesday, November 3, 2009

Primary Election, September 15, polls open 12 noon to 9 PM

Registration by mail: Forms are available from your county Board of Elections, town and city halls, post office, and various state agency offices.   Registration must be postmarked by August 15 and received by your board of elections not later than August 20.
Registration in person: You may register at your Board of Elections until August 15.

General Election, November 3 polls open 6 AM to 9 PM

Registration by mail: Must be postmarked by October 9 and received not later than October 14.
Registration in person: You may register at your Board of Elections until October 9.  If you have become a naturalized citizen or been honorably discharged from the military since October 9, you may register in person at the Board of Elections until October 23.
Change of Address: Must be received by October 14.

Absentee Ballots
Primary Election:
Sept. 8   - last day to postmark application for absentee ballot.
Sept. 14 - last day to apply in person for ballot.
Sept. 14 - last day to postmark ballot.  Must be received by September 22.
Sept. 15 - last day to deliver ballot in person to Board of Elections.

General Election:
Oct. 27   - last day to postmark application for absentee ballot.
Nov. 2    - last day to apply in person for ballot.
Nov. 2    - last day to postmark ballot.  Must be received by November 10
Nov. 3    - last day to deliver ballot in person to Board of Elections.
